This year we will experiment with the provision of the top 5 winning trifecta combinations. We will give these cumulatively. NOTE: I MAKE NO GUARANTEES ABOUT THE ACCURACY OF THESE STATISTICS (OR ANY OTHERS IN THIS BLOG). ALWAYS CHECK WITH THE ACTUAL NUMBERS, WHICH CAN BE FOUND IN THE LATEST STATISTICS PAGES. THESE ARE THE OFFICIAL DJA NUMBERS AND CAN ALSO BE EXAMINED ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS (ALTHOUGH DANIA DOES NOT KEEP A PUBLIC ARCHIVE OF EACH DAY'S STATISTICS--ONLY THE LATEST STATISTICS ARE AVAILABLE). PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK THIS IS AN INAPPROPRIATE STATISTIC FOR THE BLOG.

Weekly Leaders in wins for the week of January 9-13, 2019
Before getting into specifics, it should be noted that this was an incredibly challenging week for the entire roster at Dania. By my count, seven players (out of an active roster of 34 at the moment) scratched for some or all of the week's performances. 26 players were substituted for these scratches (2, Laduxte (early back) and Anndy (early front) were both scratches and substitutes). 52% (44 of 84) of the week's games were effected. The vast majority of those games were late games. 13.5% (91 of 672) of the total posts for the week were effected. An average work load (5 games per performance) is 35 games a week. 25 players played more than that. 8 players played 40 or more games, led by Medrano, Xabat, and Goixerri (all early front), who led the roster with 44 games each (132-9-10-18 cumulatively). Goixerri (see below under January 2-6 post), after gently dipping his toes in the water in his first week (13 games), was thrown into the Mariana Trench this week and survived to tell the tale. Being professionals, players are expected to pick up the slack when their opponents scratch. In large measure, this entire roster is a team, paid to do a job. And they really stepped up this week. High cesta to all of them.
Erik (late front) was the wins leader this week with 12 in 39 games, for a winning percentage of .308. Three players--Ladutxe (early back) 8-33, Ibon (late back) 8-37, and Arta (early back) 8-38, tied for second. 14 players had 5 or more wins.
Leading In the Money Finishers
Erik 23 (12-8-3) .590. Ladutxe (8-4-8) 20-33 and Ibon (8-9-3) 20-37 tied for second.
Erik had his heaviest workload in the last performance of the week, 9 games. He had his regular workload of 5 games for every other performance. In the Sunday (January 13) Matinee he substituted four times and won twice. He really hit his stride on Saturday, winning 5 consecutive games over the two performances. In the five performances from Thursday through Sunday, beginning with Game 11 Thursday and ending with Game 3 on Sunday he was in the money 15 times in 19 games. He won 9 of them. He won with 9 partners. He helped account for Urturan's only win, and 1/3 of Salegi's, Amegorena's, and Spinner's wins. But to appreciate the hunger and desire of a great quiniela player, see his results below for Sunday. In his last three games of the week, his 7th 8th and 9th of the day, he had two places and a win.
If Erik was a baseball player, his line would have looked like this.

5-2-0-0

He played 16 games in Post 1-3 (13 in late games) and 11 in Post 7-8 (10 in late games). He won more Post 7-8 than Post 1-3 late games. More than half his out of the money finishes (10) came in the first four performances.

Weekly Leaders in wins for the week of January 2-6, 2019
Four players, 3 back courters and 1 front courter--2 early gamers and 2 late gamers, tied for the lead with 8 wins. Leke (late-back) won 8 times in 35 games. Arta (early-back) 8 in 36, Erik (late-front) 8 in 37, and Minte (early-back) 8 in 38. For purposes of the top winner's week, game by game, we will use the highest winning percentage as tie breaker, Leke. 16 players had 5 or more wins.
Leading In the Money Finishers:
Ibon (late-back) 21 (6-10-5 in 35 games); Jairo (early-front) 21 (6-9-6 in 38 games)
Leke had a steady, unspectacular, but effective week. In addition to his 8 wins, he had 3 places and 4 shows, 15 in the money finishes in 35 games. He won with 6 different partners and had excellent success in his singles games (3 wins, 2 shows in 7 games). His largest in the money streak was 5 games. He was in the money in every performance. If Leke was a baseball player his line would look like this:

Complete results of the entire roster for January 2-6, 2019.
Note: DJA introduced a new player this season, Giotxerri (early-front). A glimpse of him can be seen here (youtube, 10:31). He had an inauspicious debut, 13 games played, 1 win, 1 place, 1 show, but showed some promise. In the second week of the season, due to an undetermined (as yet) number of scratches he had substituted in 5 games through January 12, and was listed as playing in 44 games for the week. He had 2 places and 8 shows. And hopefully a not too sore arm. :)

Final Standings for the 2016 Winter season
Erik won the triple crown for the winter season with most wins (170), championship singles (39), and championship doubles (23). He had a whopping 70 more wins than second place Zulaika. He was the only player on the roster with a win percentage of over .200 and finished .78 percentage points ahead of second place Diego. He was the only player on the roster who had an in the money percentage of over .500 and finished .111 percentage points ahead of second place Echeva. Jairo played the most games with 633, 4 more than second place Erik.
Final standings for the 2016 summer season (which was a short season--May and June 2016).
Erik won the triple crown for the summer season with most wins (59), championship singles (12) and championship doubles (15). He was one of only two players on the roster with a win percentage of over .200 and he was .45 percentage points ahead of the second place Barandika. Leke had the highest in the money percentage (.551), the only player on the roster over .500 and .55 percentage points ahead of second place Barandika. Diego and Jairo played the most games (243).
Final Standings for the Dania 2016 Fall Season
There was no triple crown competition because of the Dania Team Jai Alai competition. For the season, Erik won the most games with 128. Leke was 2nd with 83. Diego was 3rd with 77. Erik led in winning percentage with .281, the only player on the roster over .200. Leke was 2nd with .175, Israel 3rd with .174. Erik lead in the money percentage with .602. Leke was 2nd with .488. Diego was 3rd with .488. Barandika played the most games with 522. Aimar played 513. Zulaika played 485.

Leading weekly winners for the 2016 Fall season (beginning with the week ending Sep. 17, 2016). Erik was the weekly wins leader for the Fall 2016 season with more than all the other weekly leaders combined.
Erik 10; Diego 2; Arbe 1; Arrieta 1; Ibon 1; Leke 1; Salegi 1; Zulaika 1
Most wins in a full week: Erik 17. Least wins to lead a full week: Erik 8.

Leading weekly leaders for the 2017 Spring season (through the week ending April 15, 2017).
Erik 8 * **; Leke 5; Jairo 2*; Arrieta 1; Bailo 1; Barandika 1; Iturbide 1; Urbieta 1***
Most wins in a full week: Erik 13 (twice) and Leke . Fewest wins in a full week: Bailo 8.
* One of these was the "short" week January 9-14(M)
** Erik actually led the weekly leaders for the 8 game period of January 9-14 that included the 9/14(E) performance with 12. He was listed for a short week (see * above), because the rest of the roster's statistics were for that period.
*** Erik led the weekly winners for January 14(E)-21(E), a period of 9 performances, rather than the usual 8, because the statistics for the rest of the roster were for that period. The actual leader for the normal 8 match period from January 16(E)-January 21(E) was Urbieta, with 11 wins. Because of that, I am giving Urbieta credit for one weekly leader for that period.
Final standings for the Dania Winter 2017 Season
Erik won the triple crown for the third consecutive season (not counting the 2016 Fall season, when there was no triple crown competition due to the Dania Team Competition--he led all winners in that competition). He finished with 134 wins, 25 more than 2nd place Leke. He won the championship singles with 26, 6 more than 2nd place Aimar, and he won the championship doubles (front) with 31, 14 more than 2nd place Arrieta. In addition he won the most team wins-all games with 19 (with Urbieta), 7 more than any other team. He led weekly winners 8 times, 3 more than 2nd place Leke. He had the most wins to lead a week with 13 (twice). His winning percentage was .257, the only player on the roster over .200. Leke was second with a .186 percentage. Erik also led the in the money percentage with .536, .90 points higher than Leke, who finished 2nd. Erik played 521 games, 15th most on the roster. Leke played the most games with 585.
Erik was the story of the Winter 2017 season any way you look at it. But another story is beginning to emerge. Leke, the 22 year old back court player, is beginning to emerge as a factor on the Dania roster. For the second consecutive season he has finished runner up to Erik for most wins. And, after Erik dominated the Fall 2016 season weekly leaders (10, 8 more than 2nd place Diego), Leke emerged as a real challenger in that category this season. Leke is still mostly an early games player at Dania, but his progression both at Dania and in last summer's Partido season in the Basque Country (where he played under the name Lekerika), has been very interesting to watch.
Dania now takes a short hiatus before a short summer season that begins on May 2,

For the week ending April 15, 2017
It is only fitting that Erik, who won his third consecutive triple crown, was the weekly leader for this, the final week of the Dania 2017 Winter season. He was the weekly leader with 10 wins. Garita and Urbieta tied for 2nd with 8. 12 players had 5 or more wins. Garita led the in the money finishes with 25. Iturbide was 2nd with 21. Erik had a steady week, in the money in every performance, with 2 wins in three performances. If Erik was a baseball hitter his line would look like this:

For the week ending March 25, 2017
Leke was the leading winner for the 2nd consecutive week with 10 wins. Iturbide was 2nd with 9. 9 players had 5 or more wins. Bailo led the in the money finishes with 23. Zabala and Barandika were 2nd with 18. Leke's week had bookend performances of 6 and 7 games. Other than that, his workload was fairly normal. He played in 17 "A" games (G7-10). Last week he played in only 11 "A" games. Whether this was a scheduling quirk or a sign of things to come remains to be seen. He is a tremendous talent that, it seems to me, is wisely being brought along slowly. However, playing with the "A" group is in his future. He more than held his own in last summer's Basque Country partido season (he is listed as Lekerika in that player table). It will be interesting to follow his development, and it is always a joy to watch him play. If Leke was a baseball hitter his line would look like this:

4-1-0-0
4-1-0-0
5-1-0-1

* I have Leke playing 39 games. Tiger has him playing 38. I am trying to figure out the discrepancy. I will let you know if and when I find it or am notified of my mistake.
Leke's schedule was slightly top heavy with advantageous positions, and he took advantage, winning 70% of his games from P1-3.

For the week ending March 11, 2017
Parity ruled for the second consecutive week at Dania, as once again nobody won 10 games. Erik led all winners with 9. Diego, Urbieta, and Bailo were 2nd with 8. 12 players had 5 or more wins. Leke led the in the money finishes with 20. Iturbide was 2nd with 18. The week was marked by a change in the order of games. Games 4 and 7, which were 7 point singles games, are now (beginning with the 3/11 Matinee) 7 point doubles games. Games 5 and 6, which were 7 point doubles, are now 7 point singles games. Erik had, for him, a rather ordinary week. He was shut out 8 consecutive times on 3/7, and 13 of 14 from 3/7--3/9. He went winless 14 consecutive games between 3/7 and 3/9. Still, he managed to win more than anyone else. He won 2 games in four performances and 1 game in one. Twice he won back to back games with the same partner, a bit of an anomaly. For the 2nd week in a row Dania's leading winner was out of the money more than in. If Erik was a baseball hitter his line would look like this:
Games-W-P-S
7-2-3-0
5-2-1-0

4-0-1-0
4-2-0-0
4-2-1-0

Leke, Barandika, and Jairo tied for the lead in a week of parity with 9 wins. Urbieta, Bailo, and Iturbide tied for 2nd with 8. 12 players had 5 or more wins. Since Barandika had the highest winning percentage, we will look at his week in detail. Leke and Urbieta shared the most in the money finishes with 20. 5 players (Barandika, Erik, Arrieta, Arbe, and Arta) tied for second with 17. Barandika's winning week was made in the last performance of the week, where he won 3 consecutive games. He was shut out of the win column in 2 of 8 performances, but did get into the ITM column in every performance. If Barandika was a baseball hitter his line would look like this.

For the week ending February 25, 2017
Erik was again the leading winner with 10. Chasio was 2nd with 9. 13 players had 5 or more wins. Erik also led the in the money finishes with 24. Leke and Goitia tied for 2nd with 20. Again, it was a solid, if unspectacular week. He had multiple wins in 3 performances and no wins in two. He had a streak of 5 consecutive games where he was in Post 1 (2/21(E) and 2/22(E)). He had 1 win, 1 place, and 1 show in those games. At the heart of his week were 4 consecutive wins across 2 performances on 2/21. He was ITM in 10 of his last 11 games. If he was a baseball hitter his line would look like this:
Games-W-P-S

Erik's post position performance was a little less impressive than last week. Only 2 of his 10 wins came from P 7-8. 5 came from P1-3. This was an almost mirror image of his February 18th week.

* I could find only 35 games for Erik, though he is listed with 36 for the week. The error is almost certainly mine, though, after checking 3 times through the games and substitutions, the location of the error has defeated me. I didn't check for him in the back court. Any help would be gratefully accepted.
Erik's post position performance shows just how talented a player he is. In the latest post positions (7-8), he played 9 games. He had 5 wins and 7 ITMs. In 9 singles matches, he won 4 and had 5 ITMs.

For the week ending February 4, 2017
Arrieta had the most wins with 9. It was the first week this season that a leader led the roster with less than 10 wins for a full week. Iturbide was 2nd with 8. Manex and Diego led the in the money finishes with 19. Erik and Zulaika had 18. Arrieta's wins were spread fairly evenly throughout the week. It was basically a steady, unspectacular week in which wins were fairly evenly distributed among the roster. Arrieta was able to get the most wins even though he was shut out in in 3 performances. 14 players had 5 wins or more. Arrieta's post positions were unbalanced. His wins mostly came from the first 6 post positions.

For the week ending January 28, 2017
Erik once again dominated the roster with 13 wins. Urbieta and Garita tied for second place with 10. Erik also led the in the money finishes with 23. Iturbide was second with 20.
If Erik was a baseball batter his lines would look like this:
Games-W-P-S
5-1-1-1
4-0-1-0
4-0-0-0
6-4-1-0
5-3-1-0
6-2-1-1
4-2-1-0
5-1-1-1
39-13-7-3
He started off the week very slowly, with only 1 win and 4 ITMs in his first 13 games. But then, propelled by a great Wednesday Evening performance, he won games in every performance from Wednesday through the end of the week, In that stretch he had multiple wins in every performance but 1, with 5 wins in a row at one point, and 6 out of 7 at another. He had 12 wins and 19 ITMs in his last 26 games. He had uneven post distribution; P1-3 (41%), P4-6 (28%), P7-8 (31%). Again, like last "week", his wins were somewhat evenly distributed through all his posts.

P4-6: 11-4-0-1-6
P7-8: 12-4-3-0-5

The fact that he was able to rack up such numbers in 5/8 of a week's work makes you wonder exactly what kind of numbers he could rack up if he has an entire week where he is clicking on all cylinders.
He won with 7 partners.

For the week ending January 21, 2017
In the long (9 game) week Erik led with 12 wins. Urbieta and Aimar were 2nd with 11. Erik led the in the money finishes with 26. Aimar and Jairo were 2nd with 22.
If Erik was a baseball batter his lines would look like this.

5-2-1-1
5-1-1-0

In 5 of the 6 performances where he had wins, he won multiple times.
His posts were unbalanced, 17 for P1-3 and P4-6, but only 10 for P7-8. Though his posts were unbalanced, his wins, as with last week, were quite balanced. The out of balance posts are somewhat artificial because of the size of the week. If we measure posts without the Saturday (E) January 14, performance (in other words, posts as scheduled for a normal week), his posts would have looked like this.
Games-W-P-S-X (out of the money)
Normal week
P1-3: 15-3-3-3-6
P4-6: 14-3-1-4-6
P7-8: 10-3-1-1-5

P4-6: 17-5-1-4-7
P7-8: 10-3-1-1-5
44-12-5-9-18
Note that he had the same number of wins for each P7-8. 30% wins and 50 % ITMs from those posts, no matter how you slice the week, is pretty good work.
He won with 8 partners.
Here is Erik's week.

For the week ending January 14, 2017
Note: this week covers only through the Matinee performance on Saturday, January 14. Dania weeks, for our purposes, usually cover 8 performances from Monday-Saturday, with 2 performances on Tuesday and Saturday. Due to some technical problems, this "week" covers only 7 performances, with the Saturday Evening performance left out. That performance should be included in next week's report, which will cover 9 performances beginning with the Saturday, January 14 Evening performance, rather than the usual Monday Evening January 16 performance.
Erik and Jairo led the week with 9 wins. Since Erik had a higher winning percentage, his week will be spotlighted. 5 players tied for 2nd with 6 wins. Erik and Zabala led the in the money finishes with 17. Jairo, Leke, and Arbe were 2nd with 16. For the "full week", including the January 14(E) performance, Erik had 12 wins.
If Erik was a baseball hitter, here would be his lines.

It was a rather ordinary week for Erik, including a stretch of 6 consecutive out of the money finishes on January 10 and 11. He followed that up with 6 ITMs in his next 7 games, including 5 wins (4 in a row). That stretch helped push him to the front of the line.
He won with 7 partners.

For the week ending January 7, 2017.
The first week of the Spring 2017 season weekly wins lead was shared by Erik and Iturbide with 10. Israel and Arbe were 3rd with 9. Israel led in the money finishes with 20. Urbieta was 2nd with 18. Since Erik had a higher winning percentage, we will look at his week. Erik finished 1st in at least 1 game in every performance except his last. He had a steady week, with no more than 3 ITMs in a row. His worst out of the money streak was 4, the 1/7 evening performance where he was shut out.
Here are his post splits.
P1-3--2-1-3-6(out of the money)=12 posts;
P4-6--4-1-3-9=17 posts
P7-8--4-0-0-3=7 posts
He won with 6 partners.

For the week ending December 15, 2016. This short week ended the Dania 2016 Fall season. The 2017 Winter season begins January 2, 2017.
Erik (who else?) had the most wins in the truncated final week of the Dania Fall season with 7. Minte, Yeche, Arrieta, and Urbieta all won 5. Minte had the most in the money finishes with 13. Erik won from each of the first 5 posts. He finished with a flourish, winning 3 times in 5 games (including the final two games of the season) of the Thursday Evening 12 game performance. He won with 6 partners. I think it really speaks to his heart and character that, on the last day of the season, with 42 more wins than the runner up (Leke), and having scored 50 more points than the runner up (Aimar) in the team competition, he had the kind of routine fantastic night that he's had all season.
Here is Erik's week:

=============================
For the week ending December 10, 2016.
Arrieta had the most wins with 11. Aimar was 2nd with 10. Erik, who has had such a tremendous season, played only 17 games this week. He won 2. Aimar led in the money finishes with 22. Arrieta played an exhausting schedule, 41 games. In a week that had a blizzard of substitutes (perhaps the roster was tiring from the long season and the rigors of the team competition), he substituted either 4 or 5 times (he was listed on the scratch sheet as a substitute in game 5 of the Dec. 5 performance, but he was also listed in the entries for the same game of that performance). Since Dania does not keep official track of scratches, this is not surprising. Arrieta won with 7 partners.
It is interesting to note that Arrieta's numbers came, for the most part, in the last 6 performances. He was shut out on Monday Evening and had only 1 ITM in his first 9 games. He followed that with 7 ITMs in his next 9 games, including a perfect Evening on Dec. 6. He shone brightest in the Dec. 10 Matinee, producing as good a performance as you will see, for a team that deparately needed it.
Here is Arrieta's week.

Arrieta played 15 games in 3 performances in the crucial last round of the team competition. He had 5 wins and 9 in the money finishes, including 2 wins and 5 ITMs in the decisive December 10 Matinee. His Hollywood team crushed Fort Lauderdale to all but clinch the championship in that performance. In their G8 and G10 shutouts (Hollywood had all the ITMs in both games), he finished 3rd and 1st respectively. Arrieta partnered with Chasio 3 times on Friday Evening, Larrea and Ibon 3 times in the Saturday Matinee, and Urturan 3 times on Saturday Evening.

For the week ending December 3, 2016
Erik and Salegi tied for leading winner with 9. Arbe came in 3rd with 8. Leke led in the money finishes with 22. We will follow Erik's week because he won his games in fewer posts. How many fewer is the subject of a discrepancy. Tiger has him for 31 games. I have him for 33. Erik scratched 4 times in the December 2 Evening performance. He is listed as a substitute 3 times for the Dec. 3 Evening performance. 2 of those 3 substitutions he was in the money. He also played and won a G5 (which he is usually not scheduled for) on November 28. He played 5 games on December 1, a Thursday 12 game performance. My count for him is as follows: 11/28(E) 5; 11/29(M) 4; 11/29(E) 4; 11/30(E) 4; 12/1(E) 5; 12/2(E) DNP; 12/3(M) 4; 12/3(E) 7. I will simply show my findings. 31 or 33, he still had 9 wins and it was still in less games than Salegi. He won with 7 partners. Any corrections will be happily accepted and changes made.
The impressive thing about Erik's week was how unimpressive it looks. He was shut out 5 times in a row on a very long Thursday night. During a period that encompassed both regular and team play, he was shut out 8 times in 9 posts (Dec. 1-3). He won more than twice in only 1 performance. And even though he missed an entire performance (which he basically made up by subbing in another performance), he still tied for the lead in wins. He has now led or tied for the lead in weekly leaders 9 times this season. No one else has led more than 2.

For the week ending November 26, 2016:
There is a discrepancy in the actual wins and total game counts for Zulaika. According to Tiger, he played 36 and won 10, to lead all winners. According to my counts of individual games plus listed substitutions, and counts of wins results game by game and performance by performance, these totals come to 35 and 9 respectively. There is no discrepancy between Tiger's places and shows and the ones I counted. If there is an extra game that Zulaika played and won that is listed in the printed entries plus listed substitutions, along with printed results, I cannot find it. Tiger does mention, in his weekly accounting "One extra game here, as Dania made corrections to the stats." Is this the extra game that I cannot find? I don't know. I do know that Tiger has never been incorrect in any statistic he has given that I have checked. Tiger is so rock solid with his stats that I figure I have missed something and maybe will catch it the 4th or 5th time I check. Any help from anybody would be gratefully accepted. But for now I'm quitting after checking 3 times because 9 games or 10, Zulaika still led the roster with most wins this week. Yeche came in 2nd with 7. Zulaika and Foronda shared in the money honors with 19 (I could only find 18 for Zulaika).
What was more interesting than my odyssey to find the missing game was the way Zulaika achieved weekly honors. 6 of his wins came in the Team competition. 5 of those came in a single performance, the Saturday Evening performance. He had 5 wins and a place in 7 starts. Think about that. It is a pretty amazing statistic. The last 6 games he played he was in the money. 5 of those were wins. What it amounts to is that Zulaika had an excellent week in one performance. I haven't been following the Quinela form long enough to know just how excellent this is. But I can't remember seeing the likes of such a performance. He won with 5 partners.Yeche, his 5th partner, (see above) had a pretty good week on Saturday Evening as well.
Here is Zulaika's week.

For the week ending November 19, 2016
Diego lead all winners with 10 wins. Eric was one of three players (Ithurria and Salegi were the others) who came in 2nd with 8. Eric lead in the money finishes with 25. 3 of Diego's wins and 5 of his 15 ITMs came in the 12 games of the Team competition. He won with 5 partners. He had no great streaks but rather accumulated slowly and methodically. He was in the money every performance he played in.

For the week ending November 12, 2016
Erik lead all winners with 11 wins. Ithurria was 2nd with 10, and lead in ITMs with 22. Erik has been the leading winner 8 times. 4 of his wins and 7 of his 21 ITMs came in the 12 games he played in the team competition. He played in 32 games altogether. He played in G6,8,9, and 10 in every performance. It's possible he also played in game 5 on Monday, November 7. There is some confusion about this. He is listed in the entries in Post 7 with Zabala. In the Dania scratches for the week he is listed as a substitute for Xabat in that game. Tiger notes that that day's scratches are "under review--stats error." Having Erik play in that game would give him 33 starts. Tiger has him listed with 32. If he did play in that game, he finished out of the money. I will go with Tiger's 32. Erik won with 5 partners. He began the week with 3 consecutive wins, 7 consecutive ITMs, and 9 out of 10 ITMs.
Here is Erik's week.
Key: Date (M=matinee, E=Evening) G=Game No., P=Post No., F=Finish No. (X=Out of the Money) (Partner-Partner number of wins). For the week ending November 5, 2016
Erik lead all winners with 13 wins and 24 ITM finishes. Amigorena and Leke were 2nd with 10. Erik now has been the leading winner 7 times. 5 of the 13 wins and 8 of the 24 ITMs came in the team competition at the end of the week. 4 of those came in the last 5 games of the Saturday Matinee. The burst helped his team hold on to their dwindling lead in the competition. He won with 5 partners. He won 5 times in 8 tries in the Game 10 singles match. In addition to having a perfect Matinee on Oct. 5, he was ITM all 6 games he played on Oct. 3.
Here is Erik's week.

As far as we know (there is no scratch report for Oct. 5 as this is published) he played with no substitutes. He partnered with Manex on Friday and Saturday Evenings. For the week ending October 29, 2016
Wins at the top were evenly distributed this week. Top honors were shared by Erik, Diego, and Leke with 8. In the team competition, Erik had 2, Diego 3 and Leke 0. Leke won with 5 different partners. I decided to go with his week because he had the best winning percentage of the three and because, frankly, doing Eric's week every week was getting a little tedious :). Also, a couple of things showed up. One was that it is always interesting to get to do a back courter's week. The other is that Leke did not play in two performances this week, the Evening performances on Tuesday and the team competition on Saturday. As of the this article, he has gone back to his regular schedule for the first week in November.
Here is Leke's week:
Key: Date (M=matinee, E=Evening) G=Game No., P=Post No., F=Finish No. (X=Out of the Money) (Partner-Partner number of wins). All games are 7pt doubles matches except G1,G4,G7,G10, which are 7pt. singles, and G9, which is 9pt doubles *=substitute (none this week). Partner key: A=Arbe, F=Foronda, I=Ithurria, G=Goitia, X=Xabat. For the two performances he played in the team competition, he played 6 doubles matches, partnering with Ithurria and Xabat 3 times each.

For the week ending October 22, 2016
For the 5th time in 6 weeks Erik lead the week with 14 wins, 6 more than 2nd place Ithurria. He also had 19 in the money finishes 1 less than Ithurria and Leke. In the 24 games he played before the weekend Team Jai Alai competition, he had 9 wins and 13 ITMs. In the Team Jai Alai he had 5 wins and 6 ITMS in 12 games. He won with 5 different partners, including Urbieta 4 times (once during the week and 3 times in the Team Jai Alai). He collected all of his wins and ITMs in the Team Jai Alai in the last two performances (8 games) after being shut out on Friday night.
Here is Erik's week.

For the week ending October 15, 2016
Erik dominated the week with 12 wins, 3 more than second place Urtaran. He also lead the "in the money" finishes with 29, 10 more than the second place finisher in that category, Minte. Between Oct. 12-15 he was in the money 12 consecutive games.
What stands out about Erik's week, perhaps tellingly, is that he got half of his wins in the Team Jai Alai as the Captain of Fort Lauderdale, in the final three performances of the week. He did this in 15 games, 37.5 percent of the games (40) he played for the week. In these 15 games, he also got 12 of his "in the money" finishes. This effort (see team statistics above) helped his team to a terrific week in the team competition. He had only 4 partners in his doubles wins for the week (Amigorena, Urbieta, Israel, and Minte). So far, the team competition has cut down drastically on the number of partnerships. It will be interesting to see if there is a comfort factor among the leading winners due to this. Or among your favorite players, no matter how much they win.
Here is Erik's week:
Key: Date (M=matinee, E=Evening) G=Game No., P=Post No., F=Finish No. (X=Out of the Money) (Partner-Partner number of wins). For the three performances of the Team Jai Alai competition he partnered in each of his 3 doubles matches with Amigorena (Friday Evening), 3 with Minte and 3 with Urbieta (Saturday Matinee), and 2 with Minte and 2 with Urbieta (Saturday Evening).

For the week ending September 24, 2016.
About 3 weeks ago, Aritz Erkiaga had a magnificent week at Miami. Weeks as dominant as that are rare, but Erik Mendizabal almost equaled it this week. While he didn't quite double the second place finisher, 17 wins in 41 games is a fantastic week.
